Marine Life Protection Act
The California Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) requires the formation of a network of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in California state waters, including Marine Reserves which prohibit all consumptive activities. This includes recreational fishing! The best way to ensure that sportfishing interests are protected in this process is to have an informed, educated and actively involved angling community.
